On 24 May, Andrey Khlutkov, Director of RANEPA St. Petersburg welcomed Özgün Talu, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Saint Petersburg noting a special nature of Russian-Turkish relations, what is currently being clearly demonstrated by the leaders of our countries.

Andrey Khlutkov told about the capabilities of RANEPA St. Petersburg as a leading educational center in the context of enhancing cooperation with Turkey. He underlined that, as a rule, students from Turkey are most interested in the «Russian as a foreign language» program and the Presidential Academy has the educational venue and professional staff to implement this program. The high level of teaching along with an option to choose the Russian language training course allow graduates to continue their studies both at RANEPA St. Petersburg and at other leading Russian universities.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the advanced training programs for Turkish public officials were successfully implemented at RANEPA St. Petersburg and the Presidential Academy is ready to develop and offer unique tailored educational programs along with already available ones.
Mr. Özgün Talu highly appreciated RANEPA St. Petersburg educational capacity and confirmed his readiness to provide a comprehensive assistance in establishing contacts with prospective partners in Turkey including leading universities.

On behalf of teachers and members of the “Diplomat” Student Club, Andrey Khlutkov invited the Consul General to attend events marking the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. The invitation was gratefully accepted, and taking into account the interest of RANEPA St. Petersburg students in Turkey, Özgün Talu suggested open lectures on the history of his country being held by Turkish academics.
It should be remarked that already this summer, in the framework of the partnership with TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Turkish students will attend a three-month “Russian as a Foreign Language” training at RANEPA St. Petersburg and Kilit Hospitality Group, Republic of Turkey, invited 17 students of the Presidential Academy to complete the internship in the hotel chain of Antalya.
