Sustainable development of the Arctic Zone issues were addressed at RANEPA St. Petersburg

On November 30, 2023, III International Scientific and Practical Student Conference «Sustainable development governance of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation” was held at the Faculty of Economics and Finance, RANEPA St. Petersburg.

Larisa Karanatova, Dean, Marina Andreeva, representative of the Arctic Issues Committee by the Government of St. Petersburg, Denis Raisky, International Adviser, RANEPA St. Petersburg and Sergey Krenz, Director, Centre for Arctic Research and Projects at RANEPA St. Petersburg welcomed young researchers who made presentations in the following sections:

  1. Environmental protection and ensuring environmental safety in the Arctic
  2. Development of international cooperation in the Arctic
  3. Economic and HR support for addressing strategic challenges of the Russian Arctic zone development
  4. The Northern Sea Route: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

“.. This year the conference became the event of an international coverage as our foreign colleagues and partners showed interest to join. Over the years we have encouraged our Bachelor students in Management to conduct research: every year the undergraduates are among winners of various scientific competitions on Arctic issues.”
