
On 6 March, in the run-up to International Women’s Day, politicians and civil servants, scientists and business leaders, teachers and students at the Presidential Academy in St. Petersburg came together to discuss current women’s and family issues.
The event was organized by RANEPA St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg Committee for Labour and Employment, Leningrad region Committee for Social Protection. The participants were welcomed by RANEPA St. Petersburg management.

Jaslan A. Esmukhanov, Third Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg, Elvin Mejidov, Manager of International Cooperation and Projects at the Academy of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan took part as foreign guests.
Among speakers at the plenary meeting were Elena Zamyshlyaeva, First Deputy Chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for Labour and Employment, Victoria Alexandrova, First Deputy Chairman of Leningrad region Committee for Social Protection, Natalia Kozlova Head of the Department of Political Science at Tver State University, Olga Popova, Head of the Department of Political Institutions and Applied Political Research at St. Petersburg State University, Prof. Dr. Inna Vetrenko, Head of Social Technologies Department at RANEPA St. Petersburg.

Speakers from 7 countries, in particular, Akmaral Magauova, Professor of Pedagogy and Educational Management Department at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Elmira Arapova, Vice-rector for extracurricular activities at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Zh. Abdrahmanov, made presentations during the conference day and addressed issues regarding the state support of women’s professional development and employment, maternal and child care, large families’ support and activities of social workers.
