On the 11th November, over 90 Russian experts, teachers and young scientists from different Russian universities gathered for the second research seminar in Development of the Eurasian Region topic. The event was focused on Central Asia and the Middle East in modern geopolitical realities.
The Department of International Relations at the Faculty of International Relations and Politics, RANEPA St. Petersburg, hosted the event in its partnership with the Institute of the Earth Sciences by St. Petersburg State University, Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences (INION, Moscow) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, V.B. Sochava Institute of Geography SB RAS (Irkutsk).
Experts shared their vision to a wide range of relevant topics and young scientists demonstrated deep research commitment by addressing a wide range of issues: from conflict potential in the post-Soviet space, to the intraregional self-determination of the Middle East countries and UN mediation in the post-Soviet and Middle Eastern space.
It should be noted that a lively discussion was shaped by International Relations students — members of the Middle East Club, RANEPA St. Petersburg.
