On 20-25 November, VII International Municipal BRICS Forum was held in St.Petersburg. RANEPA St. Petersburg students in Tourism and Hotel Management were fully engaged in this large-scale event as volunteers.

Student’s participation in international business forums contributes to developing a sense of community and a good understanding of a large-scale event processes, which is critical to pursue a rewarding career in tourism, hospitality, event management and municipal administration.

The volunteer shift becomes an accelerated «training module» of practice-oriented learning with ability for students to upgrade skills in stress and time management, team work and business communication, adherence to protocol and ability to make quick decisions amid high-traffic. And the outcome can be assessed immediately through a participant satisfaction and the operational processes smoothness.

The Presidential Academy in St. Petersburg will continue to apply volunteerism as a sustainable tool for developing practical skills and employing graduates. This hands-on approach complies with the «education-industry-international partnerships» learning model being secured RANEPA St. Petersburg as a reliable partner for major international events.
