On 2nd June, The 3rd International Forum «AI – The Future Today» in the framework of SPIEF-2026 took place in St. Petersburg. The agenda was focused on measurable, practical outcomes from implementing AI in the economy, industry, and public administration.
RANEPA St. Petersburg team of scientists presented its research “The Ethics of Using Artificial Intelligence in Public Bodies Activities: the Case of St. Petersburg”, commissioned by the City Government.
A separate event was the summing up of the student conference «AI Technologies: from Student Projects to Applied Solutions,» which took place the day before. RANEPA St. Petersburg «Business Intelligence» team featuring a first-year students in Business Informatics took a respectable third place.
The Forum confirmed that the development of artificial intelligence for public administration requires not only technological and economic solutions, but also a careful attention should be paid to the trust of city residents, their ethical expectations, and demand for a real improvement in quality of living. RANEPA St. Petersburg contributes to this discussion with both rigorous scientific knowledge and the training of young professionals capable of implementing the values of responsible AI in practice.
