On 10 October, Mr. Aung Pe Thet, Consul General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in St. Petersburg, met students at the Faculty of International Relations and Politics. The informal meeting was organized by RANEPA St. Petersburg Student Club “Diplomat”.

All the participants were welcomed by Natalia Muyzinik, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Politics, Denis Raisky, International Relations Advisor to Director, RANEPA St. Petersburg and Dmitry Krutoy, representative of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.

The Consul General made the presentation “Relations between Myanmar and Russia: A New Era” sharing the basic information about Myanmar, the history of Russia-Myanmar diplomatic relations, mutual visits and summit meetings, the USSR assistance in the construction of infrastructure facilities and addressed the current issues of economic cooperation and tourism development. Young diplomats had an excellent opportunity to ask questions.

Currently, relations between our countries, based on friendship and mutual understanding, reached an unprecedented high level.
