On 14-16 May, The Faculty of Economics and Finance held the traditional spring semester event for its international students both enrolled in the full-time programs and the short-term program “Innovation Management in Digital Economy” in the framework of academic mobility.
International students from China, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan were welcomed in the Country Recreation Center of the Presidential Academy located in the picturesque St. Petersburg’s suburb on the Gulf of Finland. This year the Russian students also joined the School.
The Summer School initiative is aimed at developing the students’ knowledge about the business environment and doing business in Russia.
This time, the agenda included the lecture on Financial Management, Marshmallow Challenge — the agile game on project management, prototyping and team building, the training project “Developing the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points System for a Food Manufacturing” and the cultural immersion unit where students read the Russian poems in different languages and played the Russian outdoor games.
Xiaoman Ma from China shared that this format of classes was new for him. In China, university classes are always held in classrooms at desks. He liked the rich curriculum and the team-based interaction.
Putri Zahra Febriandini from Indonesia was inspired by the opportunity to combine learning and contemplating the picturesque local nature. The beautiful warm weather, the fresh air, the Gulf of Finland shore and the scenic landscapes became an excellent complement to the classes.
Everyone worked together, discovered, made friends and had a lot of fun!
