On February 6, Andrey Khlutkov, RANEPA St. Petersburg Director, took part in the festive ceremony at the University of Yangon to award Min Aung Hlaing, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration for his input to economic stability and developing the public administration system amid transition period.

For us, Myanmar is an important partner with whom we are building a common intellectual and educational space. Today, our countries are bound by strong ties: a shared view of state sovereignty and a deep respect for national traditions.
Andrey Khlutkov, Director at RANEPA St. Petersburg
The current visit contributed to fostering cooperation in education between St.Petersburg and Myanmar, since its launch in June 2023, at the Nevsky Forum in St.Petersburg, where the agreements between the Presidential Academy and the Civil Service Academies of Upper and Lower Myanmar were signed.

During the current trip, Andrey Khlutkov also met Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, Union Minister for Education, and Dr. Tin Maung Tun, Rector of the University of Yangon when addressing in detail possibilities for developing joint educational programs.
