The future of digital economy was discussed at the Presidential Academy in St. Petersburg

On 21 March, 2024, XXXV Biennial International Conference “Digital Economy. Current state and key trends” was held at the Faculty of Economics and Finance, RANEPA St. Petersburg, under support of Siberian Transport University.

Prof. Dr. Larisa Karanatova, Dean, welcomed speakers and attendees. For the first time this year business leaders joined the conference to address the current issues of the IT- industry. It should be noted that the leading local IT-providers offer internship to RANEPA St. Petersburg students and also act as future employers for our Business Informatics graduates.

The event was focused on digital technologies, the economics of data and the issues of their collection, storage, processing and security. Using generative neural networks, chat bots, flexible design technologies, in particular Agile technologies, Lean technologies was also discussed.

Traditionally the conference welcomed the participants of RANEPA St. Petersburg academic mobility program: these year incoming international students from China, Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan joined the event.

Our students shared their impressions:

“I presented my research “Analysis of the use of GPT chat performance metrics.” Presentations of upper-year students were of great interest and promoted my willingness to upgrade my knowledge. An intensive conference work was accompanied by dynamic discussions, both from students and teachers.

Many thanks to our teachers who have been developing student research in Business Informatics. This is my second time I participated in a conference and I guess this experience is extremely valuable for my future career.”
