Alexander Getman, Dean of the Faculty of Security and Customs, attended the meeting as RANEPA St. Petersburg representative.

One of the key issues addressed were leading importing countries. China has become the largest importing partner of the Leningrad region, a more intensive work with Asia, Africa and India is expected. Among the most popular export products are coffee and tea concentrates, tobacco, paper and building materials, products of Leningrad region poultry farms traditionally account for a significant share of exports.

“The participation in this meeting was extremely useful for me. There are many professionals with hands-on experience in the customs authorities among our teaching staff including myself, but the world has moved on, conditions have been changing. For those who train new staff for customs authorities and international trade sector, it is important to understand current trends and provide up-to-date information to students”
