Online meeting was supported by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg

On 29 May, Andrey Khlutkov, Director of RANEPA St. Petersburg and Vyacheslav Kolganov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg welcomed their Myanmar colleagues to discuss possibilities and formats of future cooperation in the field of education and research including training for Myanmar public officials.

“The internationalization of education is for us one of the priority development areas outlined in RANEPA St. Petersburg Strategy 2030. In this regard we are ready to establish and develop partnerships with educational and other institutions of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar based on RANEPA St. Petersburg focus”

RANEPA St. Petersburg offers short- and long-terms advanced training programs as well as specific lectures or hands-on trainings for Myanmar civil servants, “Russian as a foreign language” programs for students aimed at further admission to RANEPA St. Petersburg or other Russian universities and encourages educational cooperation with Myanmar universities.

U Sit Aye, Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board told about Upper and Lower Myanmar Public administration academies which activities are focused on training public officials and building the talent pool according to national goals and emphasized that in this regard the cooperation with RANEPA St. Petersburg is the subject of special interest.

Parties agreed to maintain contacts to specify possible cooperation formats and start developing the cooperation agreement draft
