VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Women’s agenda in the modern world” at RANEPA St.Petersburg

On March 6th, in the run-up to International Women’s Day, the leading Russian and international experts, politicians and civil servants, scientists and business leaders, teachers and students came together to share experience and discuss a woman’s place in society, economy and science, female art and creativity as well as family values.

The event was organized by RANEPA St. Petersburg under the guidance of Prof.Dr. Inna Vetrenko, Head of Social Technologies Department.

The participants were welcomed by RANEPA St. Petersburg management.

Over the past decades, we have witnessed dramatic changes in the status of women. If at the beginning of the 20th century, women in management, science and business were rather an exception, today we see women occupying key positions in international organizations, becoming heads of state, top-managers in large corporations and launching successful start-ups. At the same time, we regularly find high profile news materials about women in Afghanistan… Such contrasts demonstrate the category “women’s agenda” is multifaceted… Only through collective and coordinated work we can create a more inclusive and prosperous future for all of us.

Andrey Khlutkov, RANEPA St. Petersburg director

The section «Women in Economics, Management and Labor Market» sparked discussions and aroused the deepest interest of all participants, in particular the presentation by Serbian expert Nikola Jovic «Women in Building Information Modeling: Overcoming Barriers and Ensuring a Digital Future in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction».

The youth section addressed a wide range of current issues: from the role of woman in IT sphere and art to neural networks and women in public service.

Our students shared:

The conference was incredibly inspiring. The issues discussed are very close to my heart, and the scale of the event and the interesting presentations made me think and pushed to learn more. Search for knowledge is power.

Karina Grigorieva, a final-year Bachelor’s student, Faculty of Social Technologies

It is crucail for students to see that anyone can succeed, regardless of their gender. For me personally, this conference is a platform for communication with professional women who, being mothers and grandmothers, achieve their career goals. This is incredibly inspiring and motivating.

Kristina Tikhomirova, a final-year Bachelor’s student, Faculty of Social Technologies
